HRM Councillor District 6
Read what residents of HRM District 6 have to say about Tony Mancini and his work in the community while serving on Halifax City Council.
"Tony Mancini is passionately committed to supporting and improving the lives of all Haligonians. For the past two years, I have had the pleasure of witnessing Tony as he worked tirelessly, with skill, devotion, and delight to help minority groups and newcomers to HRM. Tony's commitment to diversity and inclusion is further witnessed by the amount of time and energy he spends bringing diverse groups to engage directly with council. He has an astonishing ability to perceive community needs and, without request, initiating effective remedies to help communities. Tony has stood by me and our community through several difficult times. He has been there to comfort us and to actively help us through the challenges. His charisma, combined with sincere and genuine desire to help, makes Tony an ideal public servant and leader. It is with pleasure that I extend my fullest support for Tony to continue his positive efforts for all of HRM."

"I have known Tony for approximately 20 years. I used Tony as a consultant in the private sector and the attributes that he showed in business are the exact ones he exhibits on City Council. He is intelligent, proficient, hard-working and a person who cares about those he serves. He is always looking for better ways to do things and is an effective coach and advisor. Tony knows what is going on in his area and he does this by speaking with constituents every day. He is a dedicated volunteer and walks the talk. Tony is exactly what we need more of for good governance and good government. I was very happy to hear that Tony was running again and I strongly support that decision."

"When I first heard Tony Mancini was running for Councillor in my community of Dartmouth North, my first reaction was, Who the heck is Tony Mancini ?? What the heck does he know about my community?? I was quite apprehensive, to say the least. I quickly discovered that Councillor Tony Mancini was a man who actually cared about the people who live in Dartmouth North. To get to know the community, he walked up and down the streets of this community. He made himself known to the people in this community. I had residents tell me it was the first time a Councillor ever returned their call.
He participated in all the events held here and became involved with an initiative Between The Bridges. We have had a very dangerous area called Farrell Road Walkway. Over the years some bushes were cut down, a partial fence was put up. When a young girl was murdered on that walk way, Tony immediately connected with the family; within a matter of weeks a Light was placed at the end of the walk way. The Farrell Road Park, was cleared out, with a new path, benches and YES, LIGHTS. He accomplished in one year to make this dangerous area a safe, relaxing area for local residents. Why did it take this one particular man to do what has been asked of our previous Councillors to do for many years?
I have lived, volunteered and worked in this community for 30 years. Tony Mancini is a politician whose actions show he cares about the people he is providing a service to. I have the greatest of respect for this man who has proven time and time again, he is about the people."
~ Linda Rowe, Resident of Dartmouth North
"Tony inspire les gens à s'impliquer dans la communauté, il est facile à approcher et attentif aux préoccupations des gens. Ayant travaillé avec lui sur des questions de diversité et d'égalité, il est un joueur d'équipe de confiance et je reconnais que sa priorité est le bien-être de ses électeurs. Homme de cœur, il aime rencontrer le public aussi souvent qu'il le peut et je lui souhaite bonne chance pour les prochaines élections municipales."
"Tony inspires people to get involved in the community, is easily approached and attentive to people's concerns. Having worked with him on diversity and equality issues he is a trusted team player and I acknowledge that his priority is the wellbeing of his constituents. A kind hearted man he enjoys meeting with the public as often as he can and I wish him the best in the upcoming municipal elections."

"My family has lived in Port Wallace since 1975. We love this place and have been represented by several Aldermen and Councillors over the past 45 years . Tony Mancini is, without a doubt, the most energetic, informative and attentive Civic Representative we have ever had. His emails and newsletters are always interesting and to the point, keeping us apprised of what going on in our District.
Whether taking a stroll through Shubie Park , his dog for a walk or driving by your house, Tony always has time for a chat & to listen to a concern. Tony is very concerned with Public Safety and was instrumental in the installation of the warning signage near the beach at Shubie Park, cautioning boaters and jet-skiers to slow down and be mindful of others, both on and in the water.
The Folks of Port Wallace and East Dartmouth need a guy like Tony Mancini to represent us as our HRM Councillor."
~ Sandy Bryson, Resident, Port Wallace
"Since I have been a resident and an interested, and caring community volunteer in District 6 for many years, I would like to share with you my thoughts regarding Tony Mancini who is re-offering again in our area as HRM Councillor. During the past four years there were many concerns that were troublesome moments where it was necessary to contact him, if he did not answer, a message was left concerning the issue and he returned my call, investigated the problem and always got back to me. He has walked the walk with me, while showing him the problems that should not be there and he was more than helpful in solving the concern. I have seen many changes in certain areas, near and far that has improved the communities to make them a safer place to live and to be able to see the beauty within when changes were made after so many years. We have been fortunate to have this caring individual who has been providing a service on what he can do and wants to do for the residents. Thank you Tony, for all your accomplished work in all of the District 6 communities. "

"I first met Tony Mancini when he was a senior partner at Priority Management. He immediately impressed me with his open-mindedness and his genuine desire to help his clients. As a councillor, these attributes and his strong sense of community engagement have made him a highly effective representative for our district. Over the years, I have seen Tony in action, from organising the annual Shubie Park tree lighting festivities to helping distribute food hampers, to his role as Deputy Mayor during Hurricane Dorian. In every situation, I can honestly say that he cares deeply for the residents of Harbourview-Burnside-Harbour East. We are indeed fortunate to have Tony Mancini representing the citizens of District 6."
~ Sylvain Allaire, Resident, Dartmouth East
"I am personally so excited to see that Councillor Tony Mancini is running for re-election. He has been such a tremendous supporter of Sole Sisters Race and Girls Gone Gazelle. There are so many things that take place behind the scenes in executing the largest women's 5K. And often there is an issue that has to be addressed on the fly. [You can't imagine the craziness]. But, every single time we have needed help over the years we have called our Councillor and had his help immediately. Even just knowing he believes in our event has been such an asset. Tony is a runner himself and he believes in the power of exercise to help our physical and mental health. That's why he has always advocated for our races. Let's make sure we keep this amazing advocate for women, girls AND all families. Vote for Tony, we sure will."
~ Stacy Chesnutt, Race Director Sole Sisters Women's Race
"I have found Councillor Mancini to be caring and helpful, to a diverse number of individuals in our community. Many of his acts go unrecognized and unnoticed, further indicating the sincerity of his intentions. From my own experience, he is both responsive and transparent in his views and willing to take leadership. He approaches issues with an open mind, an eagerness to listen and be educated. He has exhibited a willingness to learn from his constituents, and if deemed appropriate, revise his stand on issues. These are all qualities that I appreciate in the leaders that represent us."
~ Dennis Bowie, Resident, Port Wallace area

Your hard work, dedication and prompt attention to my concerns in the past were much appreciated. You are a real champion for District 6, Dartmouth North! Thank you for everything that you have done for us in the past and hope that you will be representing us again in the future. "

"I wish to offer my vote for Councillor of district 6 in Halifax Regional Municipality to Tony Mancini. Whenever I cast my vote I have specific criteria I use as a guide to help make my selection. I ask, are they: a resident of the area and aware of the current issues, approachable, do they respond in a timely manner to inquiries and take action, do they respond in a professional manner, are impartial and respond in a respectful manner when they may not be in agreement with comments, can they relate at all levels and are their explanations such that everyone can understand.
I would say yes to Tony on all these points. His high integrity, presence in the community, genuine concern and care for his constituents is evident and particularly during our COVID crisis. Through daily updates, we were kept fully informed of the status of the virus. Personally, I felt well informed! His website is very well organized, articulate and easy to navigate. He keeps up to date on everything happening in HRM I feel Tony has met all my criteria plus! He has my full support!"
~ Marguerite Fougere , Resident of Port Wallace
